My research back in the day was in HIV and other viral, bacterial and fungal infections. I find it interesting that the new Omicron variant (B.1.1.529) has emerged from a part of the world that has the highest incidence of HIV (see attached). My guess is that since the initial virus has had a chance to kick around and mutate in these patients LONGER than normal because they are immunosuppressed from HIV, the new variant was created. HOWEVER, since they are immunosuppressed and the virus essentially "grew up" in these hosts, isn't it likely that immunocompetent (normal immune system) patients will not have an issue with the variant since, typically, as a virus continue to mutate, it becomes weaker??? Stay tuned for the next round of complete and utter BULLSHIT from our government just to continue to push that vaccine.
