I went into the Army in 1969. In 1970, I was in Nam. When I got out, everything changed. We had a mix of Italians, Irish, Polish, Jewish, etc. When I got out it was Spanish, Muslim, Indian, Pakistani, etc. Nobody spoke English and I didn’t fit. So, I re-enlisted. What bothered me the most were there weren’t any kids playing on the streets. We played stickball and two-hand touch from sun up til sundown. NO KIDS PLAYING! Unimaginable. The Army spoke English. What kind of kids are they raising? IPhone kids? God help AMERICA.
