Hitler replaced the cross of Christ with a broken cross or Swastika which adorned the German churches. Christmas was celebrated as a Yuletide festival with carols and Nativity plays being banned in 1938. Easter was observed as the celebration of spring instead of the risen Christ. Crosses could not be displayed in schools or on public property. Private schools were abolished and only public schools remained with textbooks promoting Nazi ideology. Teachers were forced to take a loyalty oath to Hitler or be dismissed.

    Oddly enough this symbol was originally meant for good. Quoting "The swastika was long used as a symbol of well-being in ancient societies, including those in India, China, Africa, native America, and Europe." Hitler redesigned the flag to include the symbol.....for evil intentions
