The Puritans valued literacy highly; they believed all individuals should be able to read and interpret the Bible for themselves. In 1642 Massachusetts had required parents to ensure their children’s ability to read, and five years later, in this act, the state mandated community schooling. Act required towns to support teachers for their children The religious basis of the act was explicit: the act stated its intention was to thwart “ye old deluder, Satan” in his goal “to keepe men from the knowledge of ye Scriptures.” To this end, the law required every town with 50 or more families to hire and maintain a teacher to instruct all children in reading and writing. Towns of 100 or more families were required to support a grammar school to prepare students to attend Harvard College. Similar acts were soon adopted in the other New England colonies, except Rhode Island. Act established principles of public education The act established several principles upon which public primary and secondary education continues to rest today: that basic education is a public or community responsibility, that the state can require communities to raise and expend local funds for schools, that day-to-day responsibility for the operation of schools rests at the local level, and that schools are to be organized in levels separating elementary from secondary education. The religious origins of laws providing for education in early America may help explain some of the conflicts that have subsequently developed when courts, enforcing the establishment clause of the First Amendment, have invalidated devotional religious exercises in public schools. And, on Friday night after the Game…Everyone would head to the Drive-in Burger place in your cool car with ‘Fins” & a 250 or 350 hp engine …our place was “Manners”…and you and your girl would get a “Big Boy Burger with that special sauce, fries & Coke”…and afterwards a Milk Shake…and you were “King of the Drive-in”. Remember…How guys would race their engines…and drive around the Drive-in…before peeling out on the road…Cool! Elvis was the King, Rock & Roll was cool, the twist. One could graduate from high school…get a job at the factories in town…meet your friends at the bar or the bowling alley…a couple years later get married…have a few kids…in the summer go to the beach or the swimming lake…like Echoes Lake. Then, the Beatles came along…I want to hold your Hand…She loves me…Yeah…Yeah. Then…those “People” who Hated God, Hate America…the “ones” who were not happy with anything in America…the Commies…who started tearing everything down…that was good with America. I remember…my first commie was…old Walter Cronkite…then, I had to realize that the 3 TV stations were made up of “Leftists / Commies”…that wanted to push their commie garbage down our throats. Now…All, the Christians had to do was keep evangelizing and teaching the people of America…what was wrong with all this Commie beliefs and ideas…but they failed. Now…America is no longer a moral Republic…and we are sinking fast…”Good is called Evil…and Evil is called Good”. And, the God-Less Democrats have the “Full Power” of the US Gov’t…and those 85 Executive Orders written by Obama…are accelerating our decline. The “Plan” is to sink this God’s Republic…and replace it…which seems “Normal” to God Haters…with a Communist State…where “they” are the Gods…and “they” know…what is best for you. Well, it looks like the Cabal (the Bankers) and the New World Order people are going to get…what they want for a long time. Where is the “Fonzie” to save us??? Always, Remember…God Haters are never happy…in God’s America. And, Always, Remember…Don’t give them the Power…over you…”they’ go Crazy with Power!!!
