I believe this describes most of human history. However, I also think the 5% are gaining ground right now, much like it was in the years leading up to 1776. Just spent a little time in a big city and had a chance to talk with a lot of random people. It seems to me the sleeping 90% has been significantly reduced, maybe even to 70% or better.
